Deer Management: A Best Practice Event

 This event is aimed at woodland managers and owners along with people with managing wild deer populations within woodlands. The event is to be held at Birches Valley visitor centre on Cannock Chase

The day will focus on the best practice approaches to wild deer management on a landscape scale and will benefit people directly involved in woodland and deer management. Wild deer populations are increasing across the region and are having an adverse impact on both established woodlands and woodland creation. This event aims to improve knowledge around this subject and included in the cost of the event is a free copy of the best practice guidelines (£25 to buy normally) as well as a lunch and refreshments.

 Topics covered during the day will include deer impact assessments in woodlands, planning and establishing landscape scale deer management as well as other topics relevant to management of woodland deer populations.

Venue: Birches Valley Visitor Centre, Cannock Chase

This event has outdoor elements so please ensure suitable clothing and footwear is worn.

The event costs £25 for eligible people in the West Midlands and £35 for people outside the West Midlands region. Reservations will be given on a first come first served basis. Lunch, refreshments and a copy of the best practice guidelines are included in the cost of the event
