We offer a free initial advisory service to woodland owners and those considering planting new woodlands and can help with sourcing any grant aid that might be available such as England Woodland Grant Scheme.

Once we have completed an initial assessment of your woodland or planting scheme, we have links with local forest / woodland management companies and timber harvesting contractors on our directory that we will sign post you to.

Subsidised Technical Advice – Heartwoods Advisory Services
If you are a Woodland owner/occupier in the West Midlands, Heartwoods can help through subsidised woodland management advice.  Approved contractors are supported through Heartwoods to deliver a day of professional time at a heavily subsidised cost of  £100.00 + VAT per day, which includes:

• Site visit by a professional forester to assess your woodland’s potential and discuss management options;
• High quality, written report summarising your woodland’s characteristics, available grant support and its economic potential for e.g. timber production and woodfuel opportunities;
• All travel and other expenses.

Benefits

• Affordable, bespoke professional advice on your woodland;
• Minimal paperwork – just your signature on the report and data consent form;
• A summary report which will help you to understand your woodland resource and opportunities, and to formulate a woodland management strategy and objectives;
• The report template has been specifically designed by Heartwoods to capture much of the information required when applying for Forestry Commission English Woodland Grant Scheme or other relevant funding mechanisms;
• Potential for further grant assistance under this project to assist implementation of eligible business objectives.
